Overview
A bluffing dice game where players make increasingly high bids about hidden dice and challenge bids they believe are false.
Objective
Make believable bids, detect bluffs and avoid losing your dice.
What You Need
- 5 dice each + cups
- 2 or more players
- A clear playing area
Setup
Each player rolls five dice under a cup and secretly looks at their own results.

How to Play
- The first player bids a quantity and face value.
- The next player raises the bid or challenges.
- On a challenge, reveal all dice.
- If the bid is true, the challenger loses a die; if false, the bidder loses a die.
- Start another round with the remaining dice.
Scoring / Winning
The last player with at least one die wins. Agree before play whether 1s are wild.
Worked Example
Follow one complete turn using the steps above, keeping the agreed scoring and turn rules visible until everyone is comfortable with the game.
Strategy Tips
A round revolves around incomplete information. Your own dice give you clues, but every bid describes the combined hidden dice around the table.
- Keep the rules consistent for the whole game.
- Track the current score or game state before the next roll.
Common Mistakes
- Changing the agreed rules during play.
- Forgetting which dice or values have already been kept.
- Not deciding how ties are handled before the game starts.
Variations & House Rules
Traditional dice games often have family and regional variations. Agree on the version before the first roll and use it consistently.
